My work involves overseeing the safety of crews exploring for oil in difficult terrain. This has in the past few years taken me to many parts of the world and broadened my horizons as to the scope that this planet has for adventure. My introduction to alpine mountaineering was pretty normal. A typical development for someone in the UK would be to try rock climbing, progress to Winter climbing.
