Grays Peak
Considered as the ninth highest mountain in Colorado, Grays Peak is one of the most popular fourteeners. It is an easy walk up with mountain goats all over the peak. With a height of 4352 meters (14,278 feet), it is also the highest point in the Continental Divide in the continental United States.
Grays Peak is situated near Torreys Peak. Most climbers climb these two peaks in one day. People usually lcimb Grays Peak first and then descend about 500 feet to a saddle, and climb Torreys. Both mountains are popular and usually crowded. Grays Peak's popularity is due to its proximity to Denver as well as easy access to I - 70.
Best Time to Climb
Climbing conditions are favorable from June to August.
Take note that snowfall usually starts in September, which turns the trail into ice.
