Mount Langley
At 4275 meters, Mount Langley is probably the third easiest California Fourteener. A class 1 with routefinding skills will be able to reach the summit. It is the southernmost 14er which lies just south of Mount Whitney.
Mount Langley is a desert-like mountain, with a bare summit peak. It offers a breathtaking view of the southern part of Sierra, as well as other mountains such as Mount Whitney, Mount Tyndall, Mount Russell, and Mount Williamson.
Climbers can see picturesque views to the north. When hiking to Cottonwood Lakes from Cottonwood Lakes Trailhead, you can view Mount Langley upon reaching the 1st lake.
Best Time to Climb
Conditions are favorable for hiking and rock climbing enthusiasts from June until October. From May to July, the mountain offers good mountaineering snow.
