Vandalism on Ireland's Carrauntoohil

A vandalism was reported on June 15 on Ireland's Highest Mountain, Carrauntoohil. The vandalism, which happened in the vicinity of the summit of the mountain. Four individuals were supposedly responsible for this act, and further vandalism was seen in and above the Devils Ladder, along with damages on drainage pipe further down the Hans Glen.

The incident was reported by a hillwalker who have identified the car registration number of the vandals, and reported the incident to Mountaineering Ireland (MI). The incident was then reported to the Gardai in Killarney and acted in order to identify the car owner. Those responsible were held liable for all costs in cleaning up and fixing damages.

As part of promotion of the responsible use of Ireland's natural environment, Mountaineering Ireland assists the government in their efforts to preserve the natural bounty of the country.
