Submitted By: Mariangela Silvestre

Veteran Mountaineer Hasan Sadpara summitted Mount Everest on May 12. The 48 year old Pakistani followed Nazir Sabir to summit Mount Everest. Sabir summitted Mount Everest in 2000 and became the first Pakistani to hoist Pakistani flag on top of the worlds highest Mountain.

Mr. Hassan along with other team members left for the base camp on the 3rd of April and reached the summit on May 12. The expedition was comprised of Muhammad Ali Changezi, who is also the expedition leader, together with Assistant Manager and support member Ghulam Muhammad Faisal, climbers Hassan Sadpara and Muhammad Sadiq.

Sadpara summitted the world's tallest mountain via the south face through sponsorship by the Pakistani government and the Alpine Club of Pakistan. Prior to this expedition, Mr. Hassan previously summitted all five 8,000m peaks in his country without any supplemental oxygen.
