After the controversial closure of the Mount Everest, climbing permits are now being handed out again! Climbers are packing up for the series of expeditions that will happen this month.
Mountaineer Carlos Pauner will attempt Dhaulagiri after teaming up with Javier Perez and Marta Alexandre and sharing permit with Gerlinde. Afterwards, he looks forward to join the Chinese team in conquering the Everest from its south side late in the season.
Meanwhile, Brazil sent out a notice about its two challenging expeditions in Himalaya this spring. Reports say Rodrigo Raineri and Eduardo Keppke will attempt the Everest without oxygen. If successful, this will be Raineri’s third time on the Everest after his expeditions in 2005 and 2006.
