New Climbing Rope Raises Funds for Ovarian Cancer

TUESDAY, 26 FEBRUARY 2008

Carbondale, Colo. - BlueWater Ropes is donating $15.00 from every sale of their new teal color combination 9.7mm 60-meter HERA Lightning Pro rope to the HERA Women’s Cancer Foundation. The HERA rope packs small and is lightweight, making it ideal for high-end endeavors, from sport climbing to big-wall-in-a-day alpine routes. The rope retails for $185.99 and is available at Blackjack Mountain Outfitters.com. Shipping is free, and each rope includes a HERA Partners in Action ovarian cancer awareness hangtag to help raise awareness of the disease’s symptoms.

“We build ropes that protect our customers’ safety, so for BlueWater, the HERA rope is a natural extension of our daily mission, since HERA protects women’s safety,” says Scott Newell, CEO of the Carrollton, Georgia–based rope manufacturer. “Too many lives have been impacted by cancer. By working with HERA and with our customers, we can make a difference.”

BlueWater Ropes has been sponsoring the HERA Climb4Life event series since its inception in 2002.
