Mountaineering Scientist Plunges to Death, Tuesday |

Eighty-two years old Professor Malcolm Slesser of Scotland died after plunging from a clifftop in the Highlands, Tuesday. He is one of Scotland's most distinguished scientists and mountaineers.
Professor Malcolm was killed while walking last Tuesday evening on the Ardnish Peninsula at Loch Ailort. He was walking with a woman companion when the accident happened. According to John Fowler

NZAC Holds 2007 Photographic Competition |

The New Zealand Alpine Club's (NZAC) 2007 Photographic Competition has just started.
Open to all NZAC members, NZAC's Photocomp has six main theme categories, namely Alpine Activity, Alpine General, Alpine Nature, Rock climbing, Humour, and Photojournalism. In addition, an "Overall Champion Image" will also be declared among the entries, regardless of the category it belonged to.
