THURSDAY, 29 MARCH 2007
Dave Bateson from Barrowford will scale one of the world's highest mountain to raise money for his disabled nephew, Ryan Padgett who suffers from muscle wasting disease known as muscular dystrophy. He will attempt to raise £4,500 by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Twenty nine year old Dave who is a freelance website developer trains three to four times a week to make sure he is in great condition. Proceeds of the money will buy a wheelchair and stairlift for his fourteen year old nephew who needs 24 hour care.
Dave plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in September and hopes to secure sponsorship by June.
