Missing Climbers in Mount Hood

Rescuers searched Mount Hood to find eight climbers who were reported missing by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. Three of the climbers had fallen from a ledge.
Three climbers who fell from Mount Hood at an altitude of more than 8,300 feet cannot be located and none has communicated with the other member.
All eight climbers are equipped with a mountain locator unit which enables rescuers to pinpoint climber's location. American Medical Response, Portland Mountain Rescue and Mountain Wave Communication Specialists are among those who help in the operation.
