The second Mountain Film Festival will future documentaries on mountaineering from around the world on December 15-17, 2006 at the Tarik Zafer Tunaya Culture Center in Beyoglu. Twenty turkish and foreign films will be screened in the festival which is sponsored Kingston Technology and was organized by the Nature Activities Group Sports Club.
During its first day on December 15, two special documentary films will be shown which are the Erciyes Winter Climbing and Are You Ready Everest. The latter is a black and white film shot under hard conditions by mountaineer and director Ugman Sungur in 1976 and the former which covers the climbing adventure of the Everest Turkish team. Among the films that will be shown on the second and third day is the Storm Over Mont Blanc by director Arnold Franck.
The festival will also exhibit photos which are taken by famous photographers like Bunyad Dinc and the Everest team will share their experience on Saturday at 4pm. Turkish mountaineer Nasuh Mahruki will also be among the guest and is scheduled to screen his project which is the Seven Summits.
