One body was found on Mount Hood which was believed to be one of the three missing climbers. It was found in a second snow cave where rescuers found a sleeping bag, ice axes and rope.
Oregon National Guard spokesman Mike Braibish said, they are still going to collect information and pursue the rescue of the two climbers and that they remain hopeful. Helicopters had spotted a rope near the first snow cave and had been laid out in Y shape which climbers use to indicate their location. Footprints were also found and appeared to head up the mountain toward the summit but were blown out by the wind at high points.
Bad weather condition had been hampering the search and rescue operation since the three was reported missing eight days ago. The temperatures at the summit were reported near zero degrees.
