An annual mountaineering camp will be organized by the Kerala Mountaineering Association on the third week of February 2007. The one day seminar will be held at Neyyar Dam and will discuss the possibilities of developing mountaineering as a tourist interest.
The association will conduct an advance course and an instructor's course. Thirty candidates will be chosen and the best one will be included in the instructor's course. It will also bring a hand-guide which contains details of the hilly areas and the scope for mountaineering.
Among the expected participants are the heads of Tourism, Police and Youth Welfare Departments and representatives of Nehru Yuvak Kendra, Sports Council and Universities.
