A climber is set out to climb the Himalayan Peaks wearing a kilt. A kilt is a tailored garment wrapped around the wearer’s body at the waist, hanging down encircling and covering the upper part of the legs above the knees.
Chris Dunlop, 36, hopes to earn a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first kiltie to climb Mera Peak in Nepal. Dunlop will be wearing his kilt for 12 days but will ensure that he won’t get frostbite.
Likewise, his party will also climb Nepal’s Island Peak and cross Amphu Labtsa pass which took the lives of 10 French climbers last year.
This climb is for the fund raising of the charity Capability Scotland which is inspired by his 8 year old god daughter who has a cerebral palsy.
