BMC Technical and Training Conference
FRIDAY, 29 SEPTEMBER 2006
A workshop entitled “Know your Stuff! BMC Technical and Training Conference” will be held on October 21, 2006 at the National Mountaineering Centre, Plas y Brenin.
This workshop, aimed for both new and experienced climbers, will outline how equipment manufacture and design impacts upon the way in which climbers use their gear. The one day event will contain a mix of both theoretical and practical sessions, ending with an evening lecture by Steve McClure.
Likewise, the workshop will give climbers of all levels a clear understanding of the forces generated in climbing situations and how the energy is absorbed by the rope and other pieces of equipment.
A number of experts in the field will serve as speakers.
The cost for the conference is £40 for BMC/MCofS/MCI members and £80 for non-council members.
