i wish to climb mont blanc with me mates but we don't have any form of experience with ropes; we are extremely fit though and are expert (if there's such a thing) hikers. suggestions? thanx in advance.

still get a guide to help you out, you don't know what can happen out there

i agree with meclimber, that or get an experience bud to come with you, just to get you started on things

going without any training or a guide, nature can be very unpredictable, it's some sort of one-way science; you do your part according to the other

if you wish to be stubborn about having a guide, read up! if you have time to post in this forum then you definitely have time to go through the info section and learn what you need to learn before heading out

If you're fit and experts, equipped with the right gear and you have all your essentials in tow, you're good to go. I still agree with getting a guide though. I never go off to a new climb without a guide knowledgeable of the place.
