Hello Everyone,

I am new to the whole mountaineering world and it is a wonderful world that I am hoping to explore more.  I enjoy hiking and backpacking, as well as outdoor sports and winter sports like snowboarding.  I grew up in mid-west Maine and lived my entire childhood outside in the woods.  There were not a lot of mountains where I grew up but I spent a lot of time in the hills, about 200-300 feet AGL, and was always curious about the land and climbing up using different routes.

I currently live in Washington, thanks to the Army, and I am about an hour and a half away from Mt. Rainier and two and a half hours from Mt. St. Helens.  I have taken quite a few trips up to Paradise on Mt. Rainier and wish to start climbing up to Camp Muir as soon as spring hits.  I am going to take the winter to further my physical conditioning so hopefully I can climb the summit of Mt. Rainier this summer.

I found this website while searching for more information on becoming a guide.  I would like to have my own guide service when I retire from the Army so I can spend my summers doing what I've fallen in love with and my winters training and teaching.

That's me in a quick nutshell, sometimes I can ramble on.
Brad
