I am looking for a new sleeping bag. Do quite a bit of backpacking in MN, so cold (fall and spring below 30 degrees at night) and warm. My 20-year old synthetic bag isn't cutting it any longer when it's cold.
I've decided to go with a down bag strictly for compression and weight. As I get older and wiser I'm swapping out all my good, heavy gear for good, light gear.
I like the Kelty Light Year 20-degree bag, 650-fill, 42 oz. total weight.
But, recently I came across "The Backside" sleeping bags. They look very nice, 2 of 2 reviews are very good, in the same ballpark for price and a littler lighter (the bag I'm looking at is 20-degree bag, 40 oz total weight).
I can't find any info about the company that makes these bags. No web presence at all (other than vendors who sell them).
Anybody have any experience or knowledge about The Backside sleeping bags? Any experience with the Kelty Light Year?
