The book Three Cups of Tea should be read by anybody who climbs, is or knows military personnel, is affected by terrorism in the middle east, or just wants to see amazing examples of what one man can do. I had to read this book for school, but it has opened my eyes in more ways that i thought possible. If we have the extra time and money to pursue the "fools pleasure" of climbing mountains, certainly we can help others who are less fortunate. Or at least help others who are doing the foot work. Please tell me what you think of this book, of 'Dr. Greg'? And please encourage others to read it.

I read "Three cups of Tea" by, Greg Mortenson. It was such a touching story. A story that's still going on today. I thought it was amazing. He started off wanting to climb k2 and ended up building hundreds of schools in the Karakoram. Someday I will go to one of his schools and see it with my own eyes. His perseverance is plaque worthy. he sounds like me, like many of us I'm sure. Not living "the good life." Struggling for every dime and spending it on more gear. I can't believe his persistence in sharing the struggles that are going on in Pakistan and other countries in that region around 9/11. I would have given up. He got a check for the amount he needed to build ONE school and it all went from there. That book was amazing and is sitting on my shelf waiting to be borrowed.
