I just finished reading Into Thin Air for school.  After reading the book I decided to do a little research on mountaineering.  From what I have read mountaineering sounds fun and is definately something that Id try and most likely get into and enjoy very much because of my love for the outdoors.  I understand of course the danger that goes along with it and Im prepared to take the chances.  I would just like to get some exposure to it so I can see if I do in fact like it and if I do then take it a step futher and get more serious.  I have already begun doing some basic hiking while carrying a backpack with weights in it but from there Im lost.  If anyone has any suggestions or can help me in any way it would be greatly appreciated.

depending on the money aviable you may want to check out a couple of guide companies like exum guides in jackson wyoming or outward bound. exum is a little more affordable and i would highly recommend them. gl
