Talisman Mountaineering Activities
Establish in 1992 Talisman Mountain Activities provides friendly, qualified guiding and instruction in mountain sport.
We are based in Aviemore right in the heart of Scotland's Cairngorms National Park which provides a spectacular backdrop for many of our courses and activity holidays. The wild and beautiful high plateau's arctic alpine tundra of the national park is one of the few remaining wilderness areas in Europe.
So whether you are looking for a relaxing Highland walking holiday or a heart thumping climbing or activity course we are there to guide you.
In Scotland Talisman provides guided glen and mountain walking, winter mountaineering, winter skills and ice climbing tuition as well as summer rock climbing / abseiling.
In Europe we run rock climbing holidays in Spain and ice climbing courses in Norway. We also organise guided climbing and trekking holidays in the Alps such as the Tour du Mont Blanc.
Around our base in Aviemore Scotland we run activity days for families, groups and individuals and guided day hikes.
We are full members of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors (AMI)* and British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML)**.
*The Association of Mountaineering Instructors is the representative body for professionally qualified Mountaineering Instructors in the British Isles. AMI is committed to promoting good practice in all mountaineering instruction. The Association of Mountaineering Instructors aims to help you become an independent and self reliant mountaineer. Whether your sport is hill walking, rock climbing or snow and ice climbing our members will develop your skills to help you move safely and confidently in the British hills. AMI members are highly experienced mountaineers who have undergone rigorous training and assessment to qualify under the Mountain Leader Training UK (MLTUK) Mountaineering Instructor scheme.
**The British Association of International Mountain Leaders (BAIML) is the professional body which represents the increasing number of British International Mountain Leaders (IMLs) who work in the hills and mountains of their home country, the alpine regions and further afield.
