Our grass roots run deep. Our love for the outdoors borders on fanaticism, and making great gear is our passion. We are InsulMat and WXtex, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to be on the trails and rivers with you!
Our business and our hearts reside in the mountain town of Bozeman, Montana where we live gear. This is why we do what we do. Our backyard includes the backpacking in Crazy Mountains, paddling the Yellowstone, mountain biking the Bangtails, skiing the Bridgers, and rock climbing all over. Why brag? Because these wonderful resources bring us closer to the origins of the gear we create, gear that is an evolution of our experiences in the outdoors.
We make gear that is designed and crafted to enhance your time outside. We can't think of a better way to spend our time, and the effort doesn't stop there. We design and manufacture with an eye on the environment to make sure your favorite outdoor places stay healthy.
2004 was quite a year, and we appreciate the support and recognition. Friends told friends, magazines wrote about us, retailers saw the performance differences and word spread that Insulmat and WXtex were two of the highest performing brands in the outdoors. In support of this grassroots recognition, we received the 2004 Editors Choice Award from Backpacker Magazine for our ground breaking MaxThermo Sleeping Pad, and Most Innovative Women's Gear of the Year Award from Dandelion Magazine.
