DMM Engineering was founded in 1981 by a small dedicated team who have been involved in the design and manufacture of Mountaineering and associated safety equipment since 1966. We felt at the time that there was a tremendous need for an independent manufacturer to produce high quality, customer orientated products to supply the fast growing climbing and industrial safety markets. Shortly afterwards, DMM International was founded as a sister company whose purpose is to distribute the products of DMM Engineering and other associated companies.
Since those early days, DMM has expanded and developed dramatically. We now employ over 120 people in our factories and offices which are situated on the banks of Llyn Padarn near the village of Llanberis in the heart of Snowdonia. Our production area, which is now in excess of 30,000 sq.ft., contains some of the most advanced equipment and technology used in manufacture of climbing and industrial safety equipment. We have a fully integrated manufacturing facility, utilising a wide range of processes enabling us to design and manufacture our products in-house.
Every safety critical operation is carried out in our factory. This gives you the confidence in purchasing a product that has followed a strict control procedure from the initial design and development stage through to final production.
Our philosophy is that of continuous improvement, and to invest and be partners with our employees, customer and suppliers to ensure that we provide well designed products and service of the highest quality and value for money. We believe that in doing this we will continue to develop further as World leaders in the manufacture of climbing and safety equipment.
