Mount Apo
At 2954 meters, Mount Apo is the highest mountain in the Philippines. This majestic peak is one of the country's most popular climbing destinations.
Mount Apo is situated south of Davao. It is a dormant volcano with a broad verdant cap that extends at 2,909 meters and covers 76,000 hectares.
On May 9, 1936, President Manuel L. Quezon declared Mt. Apo as a national Park.
Best Time to Climb
April and early part of May are the best times to climb Mt. Apo.

The trek usually takes about four days.
The first part can be described as a gentle climb. You will reach Agko Blue Lake after approximately four hours (the altitude at this point is 1200 meters). You can spend the night at the large cabin by the lake.
At 1800 meters, the climb is steeper. At 2400 meters, you will see Lake Venado where you can set your camp. From Lake Venado, it will only take you three hours to reach the summit of Mt. Apo. |
