At 8516 meters, Lhotse is the world's fourth highest mountain. It is located near Mount Everest. This is why Lhotse is sometimes identified as a peak of Everest.

Summits of Lhotse:

Lhotse Main - 8516 meters
Lhotse Shar - 8383 meters
Lhotse Middle / East - 8413 meters

In 1956, Ernst Reiss and Fritz Luchsinger of a Swiss expedition were the first to climbed Lhotse Main, while Lhotse Shar was first climbed by Sepp Mayerl and Rolf Walter in 1979.

Best Time to Climb

Climbing conditions are favorable during the pre-monsoon (April - May) and post-monsoon (September - October) seasons.
