Shisha Pangma
Shisha Pangma is situated at the northernmost part of Kathmandu on the Tibet part of the Himalayan region. Considered as one of the easiest 8000m mountains to climb, Shisha Pangma is the 14th highest peak of the world.
Its peak is long, steep, prominent, and very visible. The Indian - Nepalese referred to it as Gosaitan, meaning "holy place". On the othe rhand, the Tibetans have a different name for it. They call it Xixapangma, meaning "mountain overlooking grassy plains".
How to Get There
1.) Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa/Tibet. You will get to the Drivers's Camp in 2 days.
2.) Start at Kathmandu. In Kodari, cross the border in order to reach Tibet / China. After acclimatizing in Nyalam, ride a jeep to reach the Driver's Camp.
Best Time to Climb
April, May, and June are the months that offer the best climbing conditions. October or post-monsoon season is also a good time to climb Shisha Pangma.
