The Seven Summits - Kosciuszko
Australia has no glaciated mountains. Kosciuszko, its highest peak, is a high moorland summit that offers little Mountaineering interest for hardcore Climbers. But it is a popular Hiking destination among Hiking and Mountaineering enthusiasts. It is so small that had it not been the highest summit in Australia, then probably not a lot of Mountaineers would have heard from it.
The Kosciuszko plateau is a treeless expanse very much like the Scottish Highlands. The vegetation varies from dense pine to eucalyptus and thorny vegetation. In the summer, there are colorful flowers, like buttercups and forget-me-nots. This section is dedicated to the different aspects of Kosciuszko, its History, When to Go there, and its Walking Routes.
