We run all trekking trails on Kilimanjaro and our specialty is matching climbers to the trail that will give them the best experience based upon their desires and level of physical fitness.

We are able to run climbs 365 days per year, and we have no difficulty in accommodating single climbers. Climbs may be booked for as few as five days and as many as may be desired. Climbers may choose to do Crater Overnights (sleep at 18,500’) on any trekking trail. Crater Overnights are not available on the Marangu Trail.

Sample Itinerary (Machamé Trail – 6 Day Standard):

DAY 1-Machamé Gate to Machamé Hut
Begin at the Machamé Gate (1800 meters) at the entrance to the forest. Proceed onwards to Machamé Hut (3000 meters), just clear of the forest. Total time 5-8 hours.

DAY 2-Machamé Hut to Shira Hut
Walking up a steep ridge from the Machamé Hut, you will pass through moorlands (3600 meters) and head straight towards Kibo Peak stopping at Shira Hut (3840 meters) on the Shira Plateau. Total time 5-7 hours.

DAY 3-Shira Hut to Barranco Hut
The path continues directly up the ridge towards Kibo Peak then forks right into the Barranco Valley. Overnight at the Barranco Hut (3950 meters). Total time 5-7 hours.

DAY 4-Barranco Hut to Barafu Hut
Crossing the Barranco Valley, climb the Barranco Wall (non-technical) and follow the Kibo South Circuit. Lunch next to the river in the Karanga Valley and continue to the intersection of the South Circuit and Mweka Path. About 2 hours to Barafu Hut (4600 meters). Total time 6-8 hours.

DAY 5-Barafu Hut to the Summit to Mweka Hut
Arise around midnight to make the final ascent to the summit. The climber reaches the crater's rim near Stella Point (19,000’) (About 6-7 hours). Another hour to Uhuru Peak (5895 m). Descent is via Stella Point with short rest and food at Barafu Hut and continue to the Mweka Hut (or Millennium Camp).

DAY 6-Descend to Mweka Gate
Finish descent, lunching at Mweka Gate. After signing the registry at the Mweka Gate, transport back to the hotel for some well-earned relaxation and celebration.

Additional Days
We highly recommend that climbers spend an additional day or two on the mountain to assist in acclimatization. Since all nights are spent camping, the itinerary can be flexible. Generally, the extra days are spent in the Karanga Valley, which shortens the day prior to the summit bid, or in the Crater, which eases the descent.
